Because welding deck can be strenuous and time-consuming, Hilti introduces the stand-up DX 860-ENP and DX 860-HSN Powder Actuated Fastening Systems - a fast and simple method of attaching metal deck to structural steel or bar joist base materials.
With the new easy-to-use DX 860-ENP for structural steel applications, you can drive up to 800 fasteners per hour from a comfortable stand-up position - even in adverse weather conditions - to increase productivity and have the potential to reduce total deck installation time by up to 40 percent. The system's 40-nail and booster magazines can be loaded from the top to reduce the discomfort associated with bending over even further.
This system, typically requiring no touch up or rework to the work surface, is ideal for fastening roof deck or composite floor deck panels to structural steel ( -inch to full steel thickness). A built-in, adjustable power regulator provides optimal control to achieve reliable fastenings and help ensure that each high strength fastening clamps the deck tightly to the base material.
With the DX 860-HSN, developed for fastening into 1/8 to 3/8-inch bar joists, you can drive up to 1,000 fasteners per hour with the same stand-up ease as with the DX 860-ENP. This feature helps prevent damage to the deck and saves time because there is no need for patching. A preset setting depth provides consistent fastening quality.
Because you never know the exact hardness of the steel you're fastening into, Hilti also introduces the X-ENP high-grade, high-performance fastener for attaching metal siding, roof deck or composite floor panels to standard and high strength structural steel. For use with the Hilti DX 860-ENP or DX 76, the X-ENP features a unique point design, which is perfect for a wide range of applications, including Grade 50 steel applications. For less wear on the tool and less operator fatigue, the conical shank design of the X-ENP fastener requires less energy to drive.
