Yart: short for yard art..DEFINITION: Created works of art, using objects or a grouping of objects (preferably recycled objects). And used to decorate yards and gardens. to the point of making the yard and it's Yart a popular social subject = Yart.
It is rare to find this old of a spreader with the load transfer chains and gear system. The Chains are usually the first parts to get harvested.. The Chains are in themselves, are highly sought after for creating Yart. Not only are the chains coveted for their unique Art-Deco stylized linkage. But also, because each of the Deco Chains are 18 Feet long!!! This gives them decorating potential limited only by the decorators imagination..
And There Are TWO of them!!! This 36feet of chain could make you a yart decorating legend.
The deco chains could accent your yard, garden, or walkway by using the chain as a border.
They could be used as top molding in a "southwest" decorated den or recreation room.
Imagine an "Old West" room with old barn wood used to make the bar and to panel the walls. Bull horns, branding irons, and leather horse rigging, hanging on the walls. And 36 feet of rustic art deco Chain used in the place of average top molding. That southwest room would be unforgettable to everyone who is lucky enough to see it.

As a Collectors Piece or Restore Project this is perfect. 98% complete. Missing one of the small gear-chains from the right side of the load transfer system and the original Seat.
I figured the seat went with the horses when they started hooking it up to the tractor.
Oh and of course the wood that would have lined the bottom of the bed, is rotted out. But that is to be expected.. It is old.. Made somewhere between the late 1800's and the early 1900's.. The exact date I am not sure of.. Reaching this spreader was not the easiest thing to do.. Anyway, the rest of the spreader is iron and it with a little effort and lots of knowledge, a person could have a show piece. The Spreading Auger and Separating forks all turn when the Spreader is in motion as it was intended.. This could be an exceptional 4H or FFA project.
