Newport X-48 Series Rail and Carriers
(Suruga Seiki Aluminum Optical Bench System)
The X48 Series Rail is a solid piece of aluminum, forming a rigid, yet lightweight, foundation for building larger precision optical systems. X48's symmetrical cruciform cross-section provides four parallel mounting surfaces and permits carriers to be mounted to any side of the rail; the shape of the rail also increases its longitudinal and torsional stiffness for excellent stability and rigidity. Precision dovetail design allows components to be quickly attached or removed without disturbing other carriers or components.
CXL48 Series Carriers enable fast, easy mounting and secure clamping of components at any point along the rail. The CXL48-50 (and CXL48-80) provide stable 100x50 mm (and 100x80 mm) mounting platforms that can be easily repositioned along the axis of the rail. CXL48-50 and CXL48-80 Carriers are specially designed to support positioners with the 50 and 80 module size, respectively. Knurled knobs are used to securely clamp the carriers to the rail. A unique clamp design eliminates contact between the screw shaft and the rail for smoother sliding, more stable positioning, and prevention of possible rail damage from over-tightening.
Based on the light-weight and corrosion-proof Suruga Seiki optical bench that can compose a rectilinear-style optical experiment set by using its exclusive 47.5 x 47.5 mm cross section linear carrier rails.
Includes one X48-0-5 500 mm carrier rail (~$190), one CXL48-80 (~$140), and three CXL48-50 (~$110).
