The enclosure is built stronger then any other of its kind. It will also outlast any other. You can stand on it and it will not dent. There will be a time when you need to access the top of the engine. It may be to use the decompression lever, replace the fuel injector, bleed air out of the fuel lines or do a valve adjustment. All of these things require access to the top of the engine.
This generator has a access hatch on the top so it is easy.
Get stuck with one of these and you have to completely disassemble the enclosure. Imagine trying to service your car without ever opening the hood!
Wheels are 7" in diameter and use ball bearings resulting in a larger ground clearance. Moving the generator is much easier. Those smaller wheels others use often get stuck on grass, small pebbles and uneven pavement.
The biggest cause of alternator failure is the location of the regulator. This is important. These engines and alternators every company uses where never designed to be enclosed. It is hotter inside the alternator and it requires proper air flow. Still ALL other companies leave the regulator inside the alternator where it slowly melts and burns up.
Aurora Generators have it mounted outside as you can see in the photo below. To this day we have NEVER had one fail. It is the most common part to fail on all other generators.
These types of generators are often referred to as silent. That is because they are much quieter then their open frame versions or a gas equivalent. Notice the exhaust compartment enclosure. It is heavily insulated with 4 different layers. First is a wire mesh, second is fibreglass, third is additional insulating material and the fourth is more fibreglass with a adhesive backing. It is fire proof, heat resistant, and noise cancelling.

Transfer switches are the key to safe and convenient operation of portable generators for standby power. By isolating those circuits using generator power, a transfer switch eliminates the risk of back feeding the electrical utility, which can cause injury to workers and property damage.
By installing a transfer switch at your breaker box and connecting a portable generator to the transfer switch, you can run selected circuits for appliances such as a furnace, well pump sump pump, refrigerator, television, computer, printer or lighting circuit during a power outage, depending on the capacity of your generator. Since many portable generators cannot handle all of these loads at the same time, the transfer switch allows you to manually transfer each of these loads separately whenever you need them or as required.
Determining which circuits you will require during a power outage is the first step in selecting the proper wattage generator and transfer switch.
