Tapered cut reamer morse taper 3 MT3 cutter 3MT shank
Even though this is morse taper shank it will not fit most morse taper sleeves. This one has a flat drive system at the large end of the taper that measures 31/32" wide and if your drill press does not have the female drive slot for this to slide in to then it will not slide on to the taper far enough to wedge in place. The other option would be to chuck it up and grind down the 1.792" diameter section so that it would slide on further, or to just turn the morse taper shank down to straight shank, or chuck it up on the long 1" round shaft sticking out the end and use it that way if possible.
Item ...................... Tapered Reaming tool
Size ...................... Unknown, but the taper drops about .125" in diameter over a distance of 1" of the flute length. This is not the same as morse taper or Brown and Sharpe Taper. It might be a taper pin size?
Type .................... High speed steel M2 Finisher
Shank .................. Morse Taper #3
Flute Length ....... 4.5" of cut. 5.375" overall flute length. The taper of the flutes starts at the small end of the reamer right after a small chamfer and finishes 4.5" from the end. The flutes continue a short distance after the taper ends, so they are straight without any taper from 4.5" up to the end the flutes next to the morse taper shank. Just wanted to let you know it is not tapered for the entire length of the flutes.
Condition ................ Super sharp, still coated in plastic, looks new to me
Additional Info ........ Diameter at the small end of the taper measures approx. 1.535" and at the large end it is approx. 2.093" The 1" round shaft that extends out 5" past the flutes can be cut off if it is in your way or you could use it as a shank to hold on to depending on your application. The one in the photo is still partially covered in a plastic protective coating which is why it looks the way it does.
