The OHMTEMP five gallon pail heater is designed to heat standard metal five gallon pails. The Chromel "A" open coil heating element located around the pail - not under it - virtually eliminates many of the problems associated with leaky pails. A built-in thermostat maintains the ambient temperature around the enclosed pail at the selected temperature. This heater is available in 115 volt or 230 volt, single phase.
This heater is not recommended for use in Hazardous Areas or any typical Class 1, Group D areas or where flammable vapors are present!
Ohmtemp Company was started in 1980, by Jack Skiver in an 800-square foot building in Plymouth, Michigan. In 1991 Ohmtemp Company became Ohmtemp International, Inc., to reflect the sales of Pail and Drum Heaters all around the world. Today we are in a 5000-square foot building located in Garden City, Michigan. Now that we have entered the the new millennium, we now have catalog distributors, stocking distributors, and manufacturer's representatives located around the United States.
