STRATASYS DIMENSION 3D PRINTER
This 3D printer was removed from a working environment from a University engineering classroom.
This unit comes with multiple spools of ABS material including: (Some partial, some full)
- There is 1 full gray spool and a full spool of white that the cord is inside the cartridge. I do not know if it can be opened or not.
Dimension is a brand of 3D printers by Stratasys that offers CAD (computer-aided-design) users a low-cost, networked alternative for printing functional 3D models from the desktop. The printers build models layer-by-layer using ABS plastic, one of the most widely used thermoplastics in today's injection-molded products. Dimension 3D printers allow users to evaluate design concepts and test models for form, fit and functionality.
Stratasys invented its patented FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling) technology in 1988 and has led the development of 3D printing technology ever since. Stratasys uses its FDM technology in both its Dimension 3D Printers, as well as its Fortus 3D Production Systems, developed for direct digital manufacturing and precision rapid prototyping.
ABSplus in ivory, white, black, red, olive green, nectarine, fluorescent yellow, blue or gray.
Soluble Support Technology (SST) or Breakaway Support Technology (BST)
110-120 VAC, 60 Hz, minimum15A dedicated circuit;
Comparable units cost over $24,000 new: http:// /3d-printers/3d-printing-1200es.aspx
Please read this and note some changes to the above information. This unit is not a 1200es. This unit is as described at the top of the page (Model SHDM1000). Also, in the description I said that it handles ABS+ and it only takes ABS. I do not know exactly what the color differences are, but I believe that this will not use the florecent colors. It only uses Blue, Green, Red, Yellow, White, and Gray.
I have received many questions in regards to the software. The Catalyst software is not with the machine. There is a 3.5 Floppy with the original configuration. I also have a shrink wrapped copy of "MSC.Marc Mentat 2005 r3" (12 CD's in all - 6 IBM and 6 Linux) However, even though I am including the application software, I believe that you have to keep an annual license with them.
I have never used this machine. It was removed from service at a local Unicersity, "Ohio University." The last service ticket performed on it was in 2006, and it was for a jammed media cartridge (according to Stratsys). The serial number is P0189 (I believe that yor local distributor or technician can get the service history with that information).
With a service contract, the local distributor here, you get the updated Catalyst software as well... I do not know if that is standard.
