100+yr old one of a kind rare office dictation machine

This rare turn of the century technology was the state of the art in its day .Used in offices as dictation recorded on cylinders and later to be played back by secretaries and transcribed. The hollow tube with real tortoise shell endpiece recorded the actual vibrations of the users voice to engrave in the cylinders sound as bumps and valleys along a continuous groove .When played back the same needle played the vibrations as sound out the hollow tube. The "Dictation corp.of New York" built the machine as the sole manufacturer It is the model 10X . It is all original,Except for the drive belt ,which did not survive the ages.Iwas able to make a new one from the finest leather I could find for the job,as well as painstakingly rebuilding ,with the original parts ,the motor and all mechanisms. With the remaining cylinders you can actually play some and hear voices from the past come alive. It is breathtaking to experience. This gem is truely "one of a kind ".
