Nylon is first quality white yarn but it is not treated for extra UV Resistance. Nylon is recommended for marine and harsh environment applications, but subject to color change when exposed to light for a long periods of time. It is recognized by the black tracer braid throughout.
Maximum Stretch is about 25-30% of length
We will be glad to custom cut any length you need over a 25' minimum.
We can add the following enhancements to any length of cord you require. All enhancements are secured by two stainless steel clamps (hog rings).
LOOPS-Loops of any size can be added. The additional length for the loop will be taken out of the extra length we include with each piece. Any additional length required for a large loop will be billed at $.20/lf.
STOPS-Stops are a 1" length of cord folded back and clamped to form a stop bulge (like an end knot does)
HOOKS- We offer 3 grades of hook-depending on your requirements:
Plastic coated steel-the commonly seen hooks.
Dichromate coated- for additional corrosion protection
Stainless steel-for the ultimate corrosion protection
We offer only 1/4" at this time, and offer it in several lengths. We purchased it from a marine supplier that closed.
PLEASE NOTE: We add 6" to 1' to every cut length to assure correct length AND to give allowance for loops, hooks or stops to be fitted-keeping the finished length.
Before usage we suggest you use a match/lighter, hot-knife or similar to melt and bind the ends of the cover fabric
All bungee/shock cord is NOT the same.
There are basically four grades of bungee/shock cord construction:
Fibertex-the general use material you usually see
Heavy Duty-with a polypropylene double cover-Industrial/Commercial uses
Octifiber- A fiber highly resistant to caustics etc. used in industrial apps.
WE WILL GLADLY CUSTOM CUT A LENGTH FOR YOU-JUST INQUIRE.
WE WILL SOON BE OFFERING CUSTOM LENGTHS WITH LOOPS, STOPS or HOOKS INSTALLED AT A NOMINAL EXTRA CHARGE.
