The Risograph is a modern version of the old mimeograph machines. It uses a film and cuts a "master" of the scanned item. It will hold this "master" film until a new item is scanned, at this point the old master is discarded and a new master is cut. Because there is an actual master for the item, the copies run on this machine are very crisp.
