These little gadgets will basically turn inside out, allowing easy connection of cord wires to the internal screw terminals. After the electrical connections are made, just tighten the two small screws at the back of the plug to secure the cord.

*It is difficult to say exactly what cord sizes these will accept, as the body is designed to grip the cord when the halves are tightened together. It would depend on many factors, including the cord diameter, insulation firmness, internal construction, etc. However, a few licks with a sharp pocketknife or a small die grinder would quickly "customize" them to fit a wide variety of cords.
