Cd High Speed Automatic Wrapping Machine with conveyor.
Scandia 626 needs minor work..
1000 bucks work of worth of work and unit will be in perfect shape I do have a report for a very qualified engineer..
Over 900 bucks of new parts already installed.
I mounted the Infeed Conveyor and reconnected the conveyor wiring and drive chain. I found that the end guide plates, a sensor, and fiber optic were missing from the infeed conveyor. The machine will operate without these items but it reduces the length of conveyor that can be utilized.
I powered the Scandia up but could not get it to operate. 6 of the 8 door switch actuators had been removed. I had a couple with me and jumpered around the missing ones to get running. I then ordered 5 more actuators for next day delivery.
Once the door circuit problem had been isolated I was able to clear the errors on the machine and try to run it. At this point I could not get the infeed conveyor to work. I determined that the DC Speed Controller was faulty. The fuse holder was completely busted not allowing electrical connection. The previous owners had wedged a piece of aluminum in between the fuse holder and a guard trying to keep it in place. This did not work. I bought a new DC Speed Controller and replaced the faulty one. This fixed the infeed conveyor.
I then dry cycled the machine to see what else looked out of place. I found that the drive chain for the rotary knife was too long and constantly jumping teeth causing improper timing. I bought chain, links, a chain detacher, and half links and fixed the problem. I then had to retime the rotary knife.

Once I was able to run the entire machine, I started running jewel cases through it. The wrap was quite loose and not sealing on the back seal and on one side. The problem with the rear seal was the rotary tucker which needed adjustment. One of the CAL9000 Heat Control units also seems to be failing. I have no way to replace it otherwise I would.
The top chain feeding cases from the infeed conveyor to the underslung pushers was out of time. I retimed this area and eliminated the problem.
There was rust on the film pincher roller guides causing a mark on the film. I removed these guides and polished them eliminating the mark as best as I could. A minor mark remains and can only be seen if held at a certain angle in the light.
The handle on the main disconnect switch is broken and needs to be replaced.
One of the heaters pivot mounts is full of molten/hard plastic and needs to be cleaned although it is not affecting operation.
At this stage we ran both machines and commenced with training. Both machines are fully operational.
machine is up and running. There were quite a few things wrong with the Scandia but it now appears to be running solidly. The only concern is the faint mark which comes and goes on the film. I spent several hours trying to eliminate it. It s very difficult to notice but if held a certain way it can be seen if searching for it.
